A teenager lost his life, following a police-involved shooting in Santa Ana

 

A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Santa Ana, California, after a 16-year-old boy was fatally shot by police following a family disturbance late Sunday night. According to authorities, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. at an apartment complex located on the 3400 block of Main Street. Police say a 53-year-old man called 911, reporting that his girlfriend’s teenage son had allegedly stabbed him with a knife and was damaging property while reportedly under the influence.

When officers arrived at the scene, authorities stated that the teen was still armed with a knife. According to police, officers ordered him to drop the weapon, but the situation escalated, resulting in an officer-involved shooting. The teen, whose identity has not yet been released, tragically died at the scene. No officers were injured during the confrontation, while the injured man was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
