A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Santa Ana, California, after a 16-year-old boy was fatally shot by police following a family disturbance late Sunday night. According to authorities, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. at an apartment complex located on the 3400 block of Main Street. Police say a 53-year-old man called 911, reporting that his girlfriend’s teenage son had allegedly stabbed him with a knife and was damaging property while reportedly under the influence.

When officers arrived at the scene, authorities stated that the teen was still armed with a knife. According to police, officers ordered him to drop the weapon, but the situation escalated, resulting in an officer-involved shooting. The teen, whose identity has not yet been released, tragically died at the scene.
