The Forest Grove and Portland communities are grieving the devastating loss of five people whose lives were tragically cut short at a rural property outside Forest Grove, Oregon. Stella Jade Kimsey, 26; her mother, Rowan Karla Kimsey, 60; her grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Kimsey, 85; her best friend, Linsey Mae Haraldsen, 26; and Haraldsen’s partner, Alvin Raymond Chu, 27, were identified by authorities as the victims in what is being investigated as a quintuple homicide.

The five victims represented generations of family, friendship, and love. Rowan owned the property on Northwest Otis Lane, where she lived with Stella and Stella’s boyfriend, Benjamin Charles Parker, 36, whom investigators have identified as the suspected killer. Mary was Rowan’s mother and Stella’s grandmother, while Linsey was Stella’s best friend and Alvin was Linsey’s partner.

Their deaths have left multiple families facing an unimaginable level of grief. Five lives that were once filled with ordinary routines, relationships, hopes, and plans have been replaced by sorrow and unanswered questions. For those who knew them, the victims were not simply names connected to a major investigation. They were mothers, grandmothers, daughters, friends, partners, and loved ones whose presence mattered deeply.

Authorities discovered the five victims Saturday at the rural property, approximately 30 miles west of Portland. Investigators described the scene as large and complex, with officials working carefully to determine what happened and what led to the deaths.

The tragedy also involved several animals found at the property. Authorities said two cats and two dogs were killed, while another injured cat was taken to a veterinarian but later euthanized because of the severity of its injuries. Officials have not released details regarding how the victims or animals died.

Parker was later found dead inside a vehicle in Enumclaw, Washington, roughly 187 miles north of the Forest Grove property. Authorities said he died from a gunshot wound and investigators believe his death was a suicide. The vehicle belonged to one of the victims.

Investigators had been tracking Parker’s cellphone and used license-plate camera information to locate the vehicle in Enumclaw. Evidence recovered from the vehicle has been sent to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.

Forest Grove firefighters were among the first responders at the scene Saturday and discovered at least two of the victims. The department later expressed its sorrow for the lives lost and offered support to the victims’ loved ones.

More than 48 hours after the first responders arrived, significant questions remain. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office continues working to establish the complete circumstances surrounding the deaths.

For the families and friends left behind, however, the investigation is only one part of an overwhelming tragedy. They must now face the painful reality of losing five people whose lives were intertwined through family and friendship.
