
The Green Brook community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Michael T. Bereheiko, 26, whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating boating accident on the Intracoastal Waterway in Toms River, New Jersey. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and loved ones overwhelmed with sorrow as they remember a young man whose kindness, laughter, and presence touched so many lives. As word of the tragedy spread, heartfelt condolences poured in from those mourning the loss of someone taken far too soon. According to the New Jersey State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 10:56 p.m. on Saturday night when a 32-foot Boston Whaler was traveling through the Intracoastal Waterway and collided with a channel marker. Authorities said the vessel’s operator, Kevin Wells, 39, of Warren, was able to pilot the damaged boat to a residence on Silver Lagoon Drive in Toms River Township, where emergency responders immediately began providing medical assistance. Michael, who was one of the passengers aboard the vessel, was transported to a nearby hospital but sadly succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the collision. Two other passengers suffered serious injuries and remain under medical care, while a fourth passenger was treated for minor injuries. The New Jersey State Police Marine Services Bureau continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
