According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Highway 36 at Allen Road, west of Hartselle. Johnson, 80, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu when her vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The impact proved fatal, and Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
