SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO — With heavy hearts, family, friends, and community members are remembering Ceaira Cook, 34, of Akron, and Raheem Heard, 24, of Akron, whose names were released by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office following separate cases investigated in recent days.
Ceaira was identified as the woman who died following a truck accident on September 4 at the Barberton campus of Summa Health System. At only 34 years old, her death has left loved ones facing the difficult reality of a life ended far too soon.
Raheem was also identified after his body was discovered on September 4 by a fisherman at Summit Lake. Authorities have not publicly released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
The losses of Ceaira and Raheem have brought sorrow to their families, friends, and the Akron community. Behind each name is a person with relationships, memories, and a place in the hearts of people who cared deeply about them.
While authorities continue their work in the cases they investigate, those who loved Ceaira and Raheem are left to navigate an unexpected and painful goodbye.
Ceaira Cook was more than a name connected to a tragic accident. She was a person whose life held memories, experiences, dreams, and moments that will remain meaningful to everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Her absence will be felt in familiar places, shared stories, and the quiet moments that now carry an even greater meaning.
Raheem Heard was only 24 years old, with so much life that should have still been ahead of him. The passing of someone so young can leave a deep and lasting emptiness. For Raheem’s loved ones, the memories they shared—the conversations, laughter, photographs, and everyday moments—may become precious reminders of the person he was.
Grief often arrives in waves. It can be felt through a familiar song, a remembered smile, a favorite place, or an ordinary moment that suddenly brings someone deeply missed to mind. There are no perfect words to erase that pain, but the love shared with Ceaira and Raheem will continue through the people who carry their memories forward.
As Akron mourns, may both families be surrounded by compassion, care, and support. A kind word, a prayer, a shared memory, or simply being present can offer comfort during a time when the weight of loss feels overwhelming.
May Ceaira Cook and Raheem Heard rest peacefully. May their loved ones find strength in one another, comfort in cherished memories, and peace in knowing that neither life will be forgotten.
Gone from this world, but forever remembered. Forever missed.
