BALDWIN COUNTY, ALABAMA — With heavy hearts, family, friends, and community members are mourning the loss of Braxton Freckman, 28, of Spanish Fort, and Kimberly Moody, 33, of Mobile, who died following a head-on collision Sunday night on the Baldwin Beach Express.

According to Robertsdale Police, officers were called shortly after 7 p.m. to the crash just north of Fairground Avenue.

Police said Kimberly was a passenger in a silver Toyota truck driven by Braxton. The truck was traveling northbound when it crossed the median into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Ford F-250.

Both Braxton and Kimberly, the occupants of the Toyota, died in the collision, according to Robertsdale Police Chief Daniel Steelman.

The occupants of the Ford—a Summerdale couple and their 1-year-old child—were injured and transported to a hospital. They have since been released.

Though the crash scene has been cleared and the roadway reopened, the grief carried by the families and friends of Braxton and Kimberly will remain. Behind the facts of this devastating crash are two lives that mattered deeply and two families facing unimaginable loss.

For Kimberly’s friends, the loss is especially personal. In the aftermath of the crash, loved ones gathered to remember her. Her close friend, Fletcher Carlisle, returned to the scene the following morning to support Kimberly’s family, including relatives unable to travel to the area.

Carlisle remembered Kimberly as someone who was always smiling, who enjoyed laughing, and who was willing to be there for others when they needed her. Those memories now become even more precious to the people who knew and loved her.

Braxton, too, leaves behind a life that will be remembered by family, friends, and everyone whose path he crossed. He was more than a name connected to a tragic report. He was a loved one, a friend, and a person whose presence created memories that will remain meaningful to those fortunate enough to have known him.
