The Gulf Breeze community mourns the tragic death of 42-year-old Travis Courtney Crow of Pensacola, Florida, whose life was cut short after a devastating vehicle crash on the Chappie James Bridge in Gulf Breeze during the early morning hours of August 26, 2026. At approximately 1:18 a.m., the Gulf Breeze Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle crash with injuries on the bridge’s northbound exit ramp toward 17th Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered a silver Nissan Altima with severe front-end damage after it struck the narrow steel nose crash cushion separating 17th Avenue from the pedestrian pathway.

Inside the vehicle, officers found Travis, who was the sole occupant, suffering from severe injuries. First responders immediately began efforts to provide aid, but tragically, their attempts were unsuccessful. Travis was pronounced dead at the scene.
