The Owasso community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 43-year-old Sara Jane Duffey, a devoted mother of two, talented hair stylist, and TikTok creator whose life ended in a tragic domestic violence incident. Late Thursday night, officers responded to a home after a juvenile inside the residence called 911 to report gunshots. Upon arrival, police found Sara and Jeremiah “Shawn” Duffey, 48, dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Authorities are investigating the case as an apparent domestic violence-related murder-suicide, though the investigation remains ongoing. Officials have confirmed there is no continuing threat to the public.
Sara was remembered by family, friends, and clients as a caring mother who dedicated her life to raising her two children from a previous marriage while building a career as a respected hair stylist in Owasso. She was also active on TikTok, where she openly shared parts of her personal journey. Just weeks before her death, Sara posted a video revealing she was seeking a divorce and speaking publicly about troubling allegations involving her husband. Court records also show she filed for a protective order against him in June. Despite the challenges she faced, those who knew Sara say she was working toward a safer and brighter future for herself and her children.
